Aspiring Anti-Racist Ally Identity Development Webinar

This free webinar took place on Friday, June 12 at 1pm ET. Many of us white folks are feeling a renewed commitment to fighting for racial justice in general, and anti-Black racism specifically, following the murder of George Floyd, Tony McDade, Ahmaud Arbery, and Breonna Taylor. However, despite our best intentions, many of us find ourselves stuck in in-action or perpetuating systemic racism.

This webinar was offered as a resource for white people aspiring to be allies for racial justice to engage in critical self-reflection and guidance in developing ourselves as aspiring allies for racial justice. While this webinar was designed for white aspiring allies, all were welcome to join, in the spirit of systemic accountability and action toward our collective liberation.

The webinar focused on fostering participants reflection, learning, and commitment to action for racial justice based on the Aspiring Ally Identity Development Model. While the webinar focused on putting into practice, rather than extensively explaining the model, participants were welcome to review more about the model via this blog post, these handouts, or this published article.
